July 11, 2022 _ Mostlikely last letter Haupei! Yeah I can't really believe that I'm writing a letter either. My companion and I have been working harder than ever before and it's really paying off. This last week we found 8 new people, had 12 at church and set a date and a wedding for one of our main homies Freddy. Giving it our all this last little bit I have left. This feels extremely gratifying after first finding this same area with lots of unnecessary ward drama and little to no success in the missionary work.  My time in Paraguay is coming to an end here in a week and a half so I thought I'd write a letter for my final reflection because I really find it unlikely to write two weeks in a row; my mission really changed my life, feels like the pivotal moment of my life. Though I'm ever so excited to be home I'm surely going to miss my friends and companions here in Paraguay, Especially the people and the loving culture.  People don't lie when they say it...

Haupei! I haven't sent an email out in a while and I've decided to try and be better at it before ending my mission. Probably.  I was recently transferred to my last area in Paraguay named, "Huguito" which translates to, "little hugo". It's about as exciting as the name sounds but I've been making it work. We live about 20 minutes south of the church and 20 mins north from all the members. It's a generally poor area hence the church building being out of our area completely. This causes lots of walking and trying to help people come to church based on their little incomes, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.  My companion is a Brazilian which has been fitting for my Portuguese, he just barely got to Paraguay a transfer ago so he speaks little to no Spanish haha. We have our differences but we've been able to work well and as time goes our companionship only gets better.  April happened to be one of the most successful months of my mi...

Yukyry - December 13, 2021 and January 10, 2022

Dec 13, 2021 What's up everybody, First week in Yukyry was super crazy!! The area is massive so we've been walking around a ton. It also happens to be unbelievably hot so and there have been times when we're running late to lessons and we have to be running down these little trails in the jungle and I'll have sweat flowing down my face. It feels like I'm in a weird Tom Cruz movie or something. I found out this week that the most beloved man in Paraguay is apparently Chuck Norris. The work is really good. It feels like Christmas in July so really it feels like the fourth of July and not Christmas. I also decided to learn Italian this week so we'll see where that goes. I've also been working on how long I can hold my breath and the most I've gotten is 1:24. I've been really studying the book of Romans lately and it's been great. Message me! Con Heteiterei Rohayhu, Tujape Fuell Hello everybody  Im doing good and I'm of good health, my parent...

yukywhoooo   Hello Hello! I've really got to get better at writing emails, The biggest news is that I'm getting transferred from Luque 2 to another area in my zone called Yukyry! it's pronounced like jewkooroo & I don't have a clue what it means but im sure i'll figure it out soon enough. I was called as the new District Leader and I'm gonna be with an Elder who just left his training so it should be pretty fun. The best thing I've heard about Yukyry is that it's basically in the jungles and people like to steal the shoes of the rich(er) looking people, so i'm excited! These last 6 months in Luque have definitely been the hardest and the most rewarding of my mission and I'll always look back on it as the area where I grew the most. We had a lot of potential going in the area right now and I tend to be a pretty sentimental person which sucks so leaving always blows but I'm genuinely excited for this next chapter of my mission. I've als...

Mba'eteko la porte Codydontgetmarried! - Hello all, it's been a while since I've written an email so I thought itd be appropriate to catch all of you up on my life here in the guay; The work here in Luque has been incredible, we were able to baptize our friend Yessica (pronounced Jessica, Paraguay for ya) and it was a beautiful day. We've been very focused on the new Love, Share and Invite initiative that the church has began rolling out and I'm all for it. I never felt too comfortable just going up to people and throwing a book at them so this new method of being more unified with members with the work has felt a lot more natural and proven to be a lot more effective, which I'm loving. As of right now we have 3 people on date for baptism and we're looking to put two more for this upcoming week- the field is still white and somewhat harvested so it requires extraordinary and planned efforts for extraordinary results.   It's been getting ridiculously ho...
