I hate bed bugs!

Image
heyo This week is one for the books here in Dallas. The dang ghost just won't leave us alone, here's what I got; bed bugs, pipe under our sink broke, member walked into our house and starting preaching deep doctrine, had to sing in church and henry the cat is missing :'( Besides all these shenanigans, this week was still pretty decent. I finally got my flight information to Paraguay so it sounds pretty legit this time. I'm supposed to be leaving next sunday at 8 am and will be arriving in Paraguay at 6 am the following morning, so yeah, wish me luck lol.  As far as work went this week, it was good! Due to the pandemic a lot of people stopped going to church so we've been focusing a lot of our efforts on reactivating. We've gotten really close with this one family who has 6 kids under the age of 13 so as you can imagine, it feels a lot like home. One of their daughters, Ozma, won't let me leave until I read a chapter of the children's book of mormon with ...

Driving like a getaway driver but to the hospital

This week was wild. I got word a few nights ago that my flight to Paraguay was canceled once more. I'm supposed to leave on the 31st now, "supposedly". I might end up serving my whole mission here in dallas, I just wouldn't know until the final week here though haha.  I'm sure you all are curious of my subject so I'll just jump right into it; one of my companions had surgery a couple months before he came out and it started hurting him again on friday night so we called president and he told us to take him to the ER. This ER visit turned into one each night for the next two nights. It was decided that my comp needs to go back home to get it taken care of, we're all a little bummed out about this but it's all God's will. Being a getaway driver to the ER is not always the most fun, but it was pretty exhilarating I'm not gonna lie haha. I felt like I was in a movie going 90 mph down the dallas freeway at midnight, it was sick.  Just to add to the ...

Pacienco Mio!!

Hey y'all! Bear with me, this email might get a little hefty because this week was great and I have a lot to report on, I promise if you make it to the end you'll love it & I might just have pics to back up my claim.  To start this week off I had interviews with my mission president and it was great, he's the sweetest guy. Something I asked him is how I can work on patience. Before I got on the mission I would've liked to think I was a patient guy, turns out I'm actually the exact opposite haha. Over this past month, God has really been working on my patience with a couple of things, so I needed some help. If any of y'all struggle with the same dilemma I'd invite you to read moroni 7:40-47, it'll help a lot. Nevertheless as I've been able to  choose  how to respond to some situations I've been able to feel a lot more peace and happiness, who would've thought!  I had exchanges again this week, but this time it was with my good friend Eld...

It's actually April Fools!!

First and foremost I found out that I gained 15 pounds since I've got here so that's actually insane. Oh also I got an email this morning from the mission office saying that I'm actually not leaving to paraguay on January 2nd, it was rescheduled for Jan 24th so for the time being I'm staying here in Dallas. I'm not too upset about it though, Dallas is pretty epic. This week was so good. Probably my favorite so far. It was filled with lots of service, food, love and christmas. On Christmas we got to hangout at the church most of the day with some of the other elders near us and it was super fun actually. There was no snow and it still feels like october here so that was pretty strange. On wednesday I went on exchanges with Elder Riley who is leaving to his original assignment to Ghana in February. We had a blast and got to have a couple really cool lessons in english, which was nice because I got a little bit of a break from stressing over spanish. We biked 14 miles ...

This is my Opus

December 21, 2020 waddup waddup waddup This week was pretty good, there were a few times that felt unreasonably long but the big chunk of the week was great.  We had a baptism yesterday!! Our friend Rosa who happens to be the absolutely cutest and shortest hispanic lady you'll ever meet made the incredible decision to be baptized! She's unironically the most precious person I've ever met. She was so excited to get baptized and it made all of the stresses and trials of getting her to this point undoubtedly worth it. Another testament to show how much joy the restored gospel of Jesus Christ can bring.  The ghost had a few small attempts to ruin our day's this week, here's a few of them: muddy shoes, shattered watch, 1st door slammed in my face, calf cramps at 4 am, heater broke otra vez & some unlucky digestion with some $1 tacos There were transfers this week so me and my comp were made trainers and our new guy is pretty cool! His name is Elder Kolsen and he'...
