Haupei!
I haven't sent an email out in a while and I've decided to try and be better at it before ending my mission. Probably.
I was recently transferred to my last area in Paraguay named, "Huguito" which translates to, "little hugo". It's about as exciting as the name sounds but I've been making it work. We live about 20 minutes south of the church and 20 mins north from all the members. It's a generally poor area hence the church building being out of our area completely. This causes lots of walking and trying to help people come to church based on their little incomes, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.
My companion is a Brazilian which has been fitting for my Portuguese, he just barely got to Paraguay a transfer ago so he speaks little to no Spanish haha. We have our differences but we've been able to work well and as time goes our companionship only gets better.
April happened to be one of the most successful months of my mission, not based on the baptisms or found people but just because I felt like I was able to serve those who wanted a change in their lives, which ironically turned into more success as a missionary as some would put. Pretty epic.
Here's a quote I like from a talk I found,
"In both cases, it would be helpful simply to be more realistic about life’s experiences, even if that means facing some questions and limitations that leave one a bit uncomfortable. That very discomfort can be a motivation toward real growth. As someone has said, the true Church is intended not only to comfort the afflicted, but to afflict the comfortable. Those who will not risk exposure to experiences of life that are not obviously related to some well-known Church work or program will, I believe, live less abundant and meaningful lives than the Lord intends". And imma leave it at that.
Also I am addicted to tereré (iced herbal tea), it's nice.
