Return of the Ghost for week 3/22 AND Geology Ecology Eulogy Spooligy 3/29 (Two weeks)

3/22

Hau'pei a todos!

Somewhat of a busy week down here in the middle of nowhere. There were some moments that were pretty crazy so I'll just get right to the point and hit some highlights, here's what I got; we cleaned out a very moldy refrigerator, thought we had a gas leak and that we were going to die but I fixed it and we're still alive, taxi driver gave us some free torta, chased by too many dogs, almost got robbed but then they saw I was a tall white guy and they changed their minds & we also had a baptism! (Lovely day :))

Alright about the ghost. Yesterday we were at a lunch with a member and we got on the topic of ghosts so our member started telling her experiences with ghosts, she continued to tell us a story about this one time when she had an egg on the table and she turned around to go do something real quick, when she turned back around it was an onion. Keep in mind she is being dead serious while telling us this and I'm trying to hold back my laughter because I thought it was going to be some freaky story and she was just tripping about an onion lol. Hearing this from an old 5 foot latina who loves to cook is the funniest thing to me and I can't stop thinking about it. She also told us about a bucket of water that turned into salsa haha.

We started teaching a Japanese guy who only really speaks portuguese and is hiding from the Japanese government but he's super sweet! He also makes us some very great japanese food so I always look forward to our sunday meetings with him.

That's about it for me this week but I have a bunch of time to talk today so email me!

3/29

Howdy howdy howdy,

I'm in quarantine. I somehow avoided it my entire time in Dallas and couldn't avoid it down here in the blessed land of Paraguay. The government decided to slap the entire country with a week long quarantine so at least I'm not in this alone.

Quarantine as a missionary is about as exciting as you can imagine, I've gotten pretty great at making omelettes, tried to catch some lizards in our casa, perfected the craft of washing my clothes by hand and also read more than ever before, which is something that I've come to love on my mission.

I've been able to realize how much the work can still move forward in very unique ways, we're planning to have a class teaching how to make cinnamon rolls to the paraguayos so they can eat something other than cornbread and chipa, which is just hard bread in the shape of a donut haha.

Here's a fire quote by my man Neal A Maxwell that helped a lot this week and hopefully it can help y'all as well, "preoccupation with the past can keep us from facing and shaping the future".

Throughout the week don't think twice about sending me emails, talks, scriptures, things to study in gospel library or just anything to keep me occupied so I don't go crazy for the next 8 days :)) it'll be much appreciated.

I also might have covid, whoops
